Many of our customers are using Zoho CRM for account management. One part - e.g. for cross- and upselling - is accomplished by sales campaigns with the built-in campaign module. These campaigns are used for communicating with accounts e.g. regarding a special product or service. Once a campaign is planned by management the tasks are delegated to the sales staff for execution.

To be aware of the current work backlog all campaign-related action items should be available as tasks (per campaign member) for the sales staff. As one campaign can consist of > 50 campaign in the same context > 50 campaign tasks would have to be created manually. As of now Zoho CRM does not offer automated functionality to create tasks for campaign members.

The script gets the campaign members (= connected contacts), loops through them and creates tasks records for each contact.

The script is pretty simple and does exactly what we (and some of our customers) needed. However, there is some potential for future improvement so we share these thoughts:

Our customer is using Zoho CRM for their B2B customer processes. B2B communication (inbound and outbound) is executed via campaigns and journeys within Zoho MarketingHub. In CRM accounts are tagged to reflect their business and technical interests. These tags are used for segmentation and personalization in MarketingHub.

When an account is tagged (e.g. for interest in "product A") then all contacts of this account should be able to be targeted in marketing concerning the interest.

As of now it is not possible to synchronize account tags from CRM to contacts in MarketingHub. It is possible to do so with contact tags but not with account tags. We received information from Zoho that this feature might be implemented in the future but currently it is not yet planned into the product roadmap.

The function reads the account tags, concatenates it and puts it into the custom field of all contacts connected to the account.

Add the newly created field to your sync job in MarketingHub:

Now when your sync job runs the account tags are synced to your MarketingHub contacts and the information can be used for segmentation and personalization.
